CAVITE – Commission on Elections offices in the province’s 7th Legislative District are rolling out voters’ education campaigns ahead of the automated special elections on Feb. 25.
The special elections are set to fill the House of Representatives seat vacated by now-Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla. Comelec Trece Martires City told the Manila Bulletin on Jan. 13 that information dissemination programs and distribution of flyers have begun in Cavite’s de facto capital city, as well as in the municipalities of Amadeo, Indang, and Tanza.Four candidates are running in the special elections, including Remulla’s son, Crispin Diego Diaz “Ping” Remulla, under the National Unity Party.
The other three are running as independent candidates. They are Jose Angelito Domingo Aguinaldo; former Trece Martires City Mayor Melencio Loyola De Sagun, Jr; and Michael Angelo Bautista Santos.On Jan. 11, the ComelecThe campaign period will run from Jan. 26 to Feb. 23.
