A member of the Zamboanga police force who is allegedly linked to a robbery and carnapping incident here has been the subject of criminal and administrative charges.
ZAMBOANGA CITY –
The policeman, P/Cpl. Rojim Tejero, and two other male suspects were identified by Abdul Khaliq Daranda, who was their accomplice in the robbery of a multicab vehicle along Zamboanga bypass road last week.On April 28, Thursday, four complainants were waiting along the highway for the buyer of their multicab along with Daranda, who acted as a middleman for the sale.
Tejero and another suspect arrived on board a car and a motorcycle and announced the heist. They took off with the victims’ mobile phones, cash and the multicab vehicle. A follow-up operation by Zamboanga police led to the arrest of Daranda who linked Tejero, a certain Sadam and a still unidentified man to the crime.
Zamboanga City Acting Director P/Col. Alexander Lorenzo ordered the filing of criminal charges against the suspect and a probe on an alleged cover up by one of Tejero’s superiors.
