It's recently been teased that the new DC Universe established by James Gunn and Peter Safran will have more in common with Star Wars than it will the MCU. Following the current slate of films for 2023, the next era coming from DC Studios new heads will begin in earnest. As such, its similarities to the galaxy far, far away should prove to be a significant advantage and benefit as a fresh start for the cinematic universe.
James Gunn Has His Own DC Universe Brain Trust During Gunn and Safran's interview, it was confirmed that a brain trust of creatives has been established to help Gunn usher in the new DC Universe and the interconnected narrative of stories currently in development: Similarly, it's already been confirmed that any future video games will have their canonical place in the DC Universe as well. To that end, an overarching creative team working to maintain a strong interconnected narrative is a great way in which the DC Universe will be mirroring Star Wars.
