The man appeared to have entered the beach in protest of a surfer recently being thrown to the ground by police.
Three Belmar police officers were filmed picking a man up off a beach last weekend after he bypassed a beach badge attendant in protest of rules requiring those on the beach toshows the man sitting cross-legged while police approach him. He was picked up by three officers while sitting cross-legged and place into a waiting police vehicle. The incident follows a recentPolice were called to the 19th Avenue beach around 12:54 p.m.
The report does not name the man nor indicate if he was charged. Multiple phone messages to Belmar Police Chief Tina Scott by NJ Advance Media seeking comment were not returned.
