Green joined TNT’s postgame show and made a declaration on the Warriors’ next opponent.
It’s fair for Green to assume that the Celtics will be the Warriors’ opponent, given their 93-80 win in Game 5 at Miami on Wednesday. The Celtics will get a chance to close the series out in Boston on Friday night , while Miami will try to force a Game 7 trip back down to South Beach.
Still, whichever team comes out of the East will have to come to San Francisco and Chase Center for Game 1 of the NBA Finals, which will start on Thursday, June 2 at 6 p.m. PT. Green’s TNT employment may prevent him from crashing ESPN’s postgame shows, like he did with O’Neal, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson multiple times during the Western Conference finals.
But given his other outlets for getting the word out — interviews with the media, his social media channels and his podcast, to name a few — his opinions throughout the NBA Finals surely will be shared with the world.
