Bloomington police began searching for the suspect about 12:30 p.m. EDT in the sewers, said Bloomington Police Capt. Ryan Pedigo. Authorities said the suspect, who wasn't identified, . He was transported to a local hospital after being removed from a storm drain by police, officials said around 5:30 p.m. Indiana University Tuesday afternoon, saying a person was seen entering a storm drain near downtown. The alert said campus police were monitoring a sewer exit on the campus’ Dunn Meadow near Franklin Hall, where residents were sheltering in place.
“We are working with Utilities to determine the underground sewer tunnels that a person could fit in,” the Bloomington Police Department said in a tweet.
