The United States and South Korea have signed a P111.5 million partnership to boost the capabilities of the cities in the Philippines to manage the impacts of climate change and natural disasters, according to the US Embassy in Manila on Wednesday.
Under the agreement, the Korea International Cooperation Agency will support the US Agency for International Development’s five-year Climate Resilient Cities Project.
This will also enhance the capacity of the local government units to develop guidelines and use of climate adaptation technology, it added. The embassy also said that the US and South Korea will launch a partnership to prevent and reduce maritime pollution in Manila Bay.
