With the help of a recent funding boost by the city, they’re hoping to reach students before they’re on the verge of being ejected from school., with $175,000 to provide students referrals for more education and entrepreneurship opportunities from the school system to try and prevent them from falling into the criminal justice cycle.
With the donation of the funds, ACE became one of many nonprofits and grassroots organizations to receive money from the, a grant by the city that aims to invest in neighborhood-level organizations addressing root causes of crime. Through 2024, many more nonprofits and initiatives like ACE will receive a funding boost through the Elevation Grant Program thanks to $45 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act dollars the city geared toward a three-year crime reduction plan.The Elevation Grant Program, previously called the Violent Crime Prevention Grant Program, is a partnership between the city of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Foundation.
