Texas Sen. Ted Cruz says Anheuser-Busch is marketing to minors because of its marketing partnership with transgender rights activist Dylan Mulvaney, whose audience"skews significantly younger than the legal drinking age."WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz is pushing for an investigation of Bud Light's marketing partnership with actress and transgender rights activist Dylan Mulvaney, which sparked a weeks-long conservative backlash against the beer brand.
Cruz and U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican, wrote a letter this week to the company's CEO, Brendan Whitworth, demanding information on how Anheuser-Busch vets its partnerships.
Anheuser-Busch did not respond to a request for comment Thursday, but the company has defended its choice, claiming it works with all kinds of influencers.
