MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Friday forecast a storm-free weekend but with isolated and scattered downpours.Weather specialist Benison Estareja, in a 5 a.m. briefing, said three weather systems - shear line, easterlies and the northeast monsoon or 'amihan' have been affecting most parts of the country.
The easterlies - winds coming from the east and passing through the Pacific Ocean that carry warm and humid temperature - are bringing overcast skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte.The cold, dry air and strong northeasterly winds that blow from the west or amihan will continue over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, including Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and Aurora, the Pagasa forecaster said.
