DC's Captain really can do this all day.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Captain America's iconic MCU quote, "I could do this all day," has become part of pop culture, a base for memes, and a defining part of Steve Rodgers' on-screen portrayal – now, in Shazam #3, the titular DC hero Shazam puts his own spin on the line, thanks to one of his patron deities.
Shazam #3 – written by Mark Waid, drawn by Dan Mora, colored by Alejandro Sanchez and lettered by Troy Peteri – finds the Captain, as Shazam is now known, saving the UN delegation from Gorilla City, before flying off to the Moon, where he is confronted by robots, who he fights off with ease, finally declaring, "I could do this all day.
Shazam Can Go All Day--Literally As DC readers know, the Captain draws his powers from six different patron gods – with his stamina coming from Atlas, the legendary figure of Greek mythology who carried the world on his shoulders. With stamina such as this, Shazam could fight monsters or hordes of robots on the moon all day. Captain America, on the other hand, while being no slouch in stamina himself, simply cannot compete with abilities bestowed by the gods.
While his use of Cap's MCU line was impressive, Shazam #3 ends with the Captain imprisoned by Garguax. The gods, including Atlas, are angry with the Captain, and will take their gifts back if he does please them. The Captain’s patron gods are expressing their dissatisfaction by causing his powers to malfunction, and it stands to reason that his stamina could go at any minute.
