THE Senate started a public hearing on Thursday on the January 1 air control 'technical glitch' that shut down the Philippine airspace and cancelled over 600 flights and affected about 65,000 passengers.The Committee on Public Services and the Committee on Civil Service, Government Reorganization, and Professional Regulation; and Committee on Finance will lead the investigation.Sen.
'We've been told many different causes – as vague as a technical glitch, the interrupted Uninterrupted Power Supply , an outdated air traffic navigation system, overvoltage, and most recently, a faulty circuit breaker,' she said.'But at the end of the day, our goal is to make sure this will not happen again – not only by upgrading the system or replacing the equipment but also making sure that the institutions running these are empowered and capacitated,' Poe said.
