Some 90 Universities and schools offering Reserve Officers Training Course (ROTC) in Central Visayas are expected to participate in the ROTC Games at Cebu Technological University (CTU) main campus in Cebu City. CDNDigital
The ROTC Games, which was launched by the Commission on Higher Education today, May 5, at the CTU main campus, will be held at Negros Oriental State University , which will take place in the next two months.
“This is an effort to show that our ROTC cadets have skills, and it gives them an opportunity to show their capacity to win sports events, and also to foster camaraderie between the different branches of ROTC across the different schools,” said Dr. Prospero De Vera III.ROTC Games organizers The sports competition was initiated by CHED, the Philippine Sports Commission, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines , in coordination with the Local Government Units .
Among the sports activities in the competition were basketball, volleyball, kickboxing, boxing, e-sports, and among others.“I think the incentives are being still drawn out if you talk about monetary incentives, but of course the usual medals, the usual recognition that is a standard in any sports activity. Tinitingnan pa ang additional incentives,” he added.Schools will also have to shoulder the transportation and other needs of their athletes.
For Central Visayas, the venue for the ROTC Games will be held at Negros Oriental State University , which will take place in the next two months.RELATED STORIES
