The first open-world StarWars game has been revealed with a trailer for the new StarWarsOutlaws. The game is confirmed to be an original story set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Star Wars Outlaws, a new Star Wars game focused on the civil struggles against the Empire’s reign, was announced this Sunday. The first open-world game in the franchise follows the adventures of scoundrel Kay Vess across the galaxy. Star Wars Outlaws is developed by Massive Entertainment and it is a result of a collaboration between Lucasfilm Games and Ubisoft.

The video is purely cinematic and shows Kay Vess' run-in with bounty hunters, which the Empire has hired to take her down.What Star Wars Outlaws Is About Star Wars Outlaws follows Kay Vess, a thief that is trying to make a living amidst the Empire's tyrant reign.
The game promises to be a big change in the formula that Star Wars games have been following during the past few years. Star Wars Outlaws will not only be open-world, defying the linearity from titles such as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor but also stray away from the focus on Force-sensitive characters.
Of course, Star Wars Outlaws' story can evolve to a point where Force-sensitive characters come into play and the criminals become part of the Rebel cause against the Empire. Nevertheless, players will have to wait and see if this actually happens when the game comes out. The new title will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC at some point in 2024. A more specific release date for Star Wars Outlaws has yet to be shared by Ubisoft or Lucasfilm.
