The remains of the two Filipino crew members killed in the Houthi attack on bulk carrier MV True Confidence arrived in the country Tuesday, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration said.The remains were personally received by their relatives at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Cargo Area with the assistance of OWWA, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Migrant Workers, and their manning agency.
“Nagtulong-tulong ang DFA, DMW, kanilang manning agency at OWWA upang maproseso ang pagpapauwi ng mga labi ng dalawa nating kababayan na biktima ng karahasang ito ng mga Houthi,” the OWWA statement read.A statement from the Department of Migrant Workers added that the remains were escorted back to the country by Dubai Labor Attaché John Rio Bautista.President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered continued assistance to the family of the deceased seafarers.
