ILOILO CITY — The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6) has reassigned 127 police personnel who have relatives running in the 2025 midterm elections.
ILOILO CITY — The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas has reassigned 127 police personnel who have relatives running in the 2025 midterm elections.PRO-6 director BGen. Jack Wanky said that police officers must not be assigned in places where a relative of up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or affinity is running for elective positions.'This is to avoid our personnel from seeking endorsement or intervention from politicians,' Wanky said.
The PRO-6 also reported that 873 personnel indicated their willingness to be transferred to their respective localities as part of the implementation of the PNP localization program.However, only 194 were initially granted the transfer based on the PNP's existing guidelines and staffing pattern.Wanky said that they could not accommodate all transfer requests as some local police offices already have a significant number of personnel who are not indigenous to the area.
