ILOILO CITY — Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas has announced that his daughter and executive assistant, Raisa Treñas-Chu, will be running as city mayor in the 2025 midterm elections.
ILOILO CITY — Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas has announced that his daughter and executive assistant, Raisa Treñas-Chu, will be running as city mayor in the 2025 midterm elections.The two-term mayor also confirmed that he will not seek any electoral post in the elections next year.
In March this year, Treñas endorsed his daughter to run for Congress, which resulted in his political breakup with Baronda after being allies for two consecutive elections.'I have always believed there is nothing we cannot do if we do it together. We can accomplish so much if we are united and think as one Ilonggo family for the good of our future generations,' he said.
