Theft, rape, and physical injury were the most prevalent crimes recorded from July 2022 to January 2023, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said Monday.

Data from the PNP showed that from July 2022 to January 2023, the PNP recorded 6,682 theft cases, an increase from the 6,304 theft cases recorded from July 2021 to January 2022.

“For both six-month periods, theft, rape, and physical injury registered as [the] top three most prevalent crimes,” Azurin said in a media briefing in Camp Crame.
