PHNOM PENH, Cambodia—The Philippine economy is going in the right direction, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday told business executives here.

There, he said that “the route that we have taken is taking the economy in the right direction” by citing the recent economic figures for the 3rd quarter of 2022. He also noted the country’s unemployment rate that dropeed to 5 percent. But he lamented that the economy “is really being pummeled by the forces outside of which we have no control.”
