After more than two weeks recovering, former Browns running back Peyton Hillis has been released from a Florida hospital where he was previously listed in critical condition after saving his children from drowning at a beach.

You all worked like a perfected machine with each and every one of you so kind, attentive, calming and caring...You not only saved Peyton’s life, you made it a priority to make sure that his family and I were okay amidst your busy schedules.
Hillis spent seven years in the NFL, along with two as the Browns’ featured running back. During the 2010 season he posted the best marks of his career, finishing 11th in total rushing yards , and top 10 in total rushing touchdowns . His performances led to him winning a nationwide vote that placed him on the cover of EA Sports’ Madden NFL 12 video game.
Hillis retired from the NFL in 2015 after two seasons with the New York Giants, ending his career with 2,832 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns, and 1,050 receiving yards with three touchdowns.
