According to local legend, the unique Altoona-style pizza was first cooked up at a local hotel in the 1950s.

Since the Altoona Hotel burned down in 2013, the The Original 29th Street Pizza Subs & More is considered the go-to spot for a slice of Altoona-style pizza.Don’t call it Sicilian, they say, call the police.
