We chat with Lullaby star Oona Chaplin about working with co-star Rámon Rodríguez, what's CG in the new horror film, and how complex the family dynamic between Rachel and Vivian really is:
From the director of Annabelle, Lullaby is now available in select theaters and On Demand for those who love a good scare. The supernatural horror film follows Rachel and John, a married couple who have just brought home their newborn baby. All seems well until a leather-bound book shows up in the mail and starts the family's descent into chaos.
Oona Chaplin: It was great. I remember one conversation that we had on Zoom. We were talking about our relationships. He's in a relationship, I'm in a relationship—we were talking about what relationships are like to understand what Rachel and John's relationship would be like. It was an instant, "Oh, we think about things in a very similar way. We're going to be just fine." It was a chemistry thing—we instantly got along great.
The power dynamics that are at play are so twisted, and they're like three and five, and you're like, "Whoa, this is crazy! What are we doing?" You can just chill, and they'll work it out later, but it's amazing how we bring up all these things in one another. I think the one thing they have in common is that they'll do anything for their son and that's where they really meet.
