Investigators are working to determine the cause of a house fire in North Seattle early Saturday morning. The fire originated in the basement and caused a sagging beam, potentially endangering the first floor. Firefighters employed a defensive attack due to safety concerns, eventually deeming the house safe to re-enter. One person was assisted out of the home, but no injuries were reported.
Investigators are working to find out what caused a house fire at a North Seattle home early Saturday morning.Aleksandr Greig lives on the second floor of the house on 30th Avenue Northeast. "I noticed a weird sound, it sounded like pipes, like you turn off the pipes and the water comes rushing in," Greig said.He told FOX 13, he also noticed smoke in the backyard, and then heard commotion happening downstairs.
Seattle Fire adds, firefighters had to help one person out of the home.No one was hurt, according to Greig. "It’s surreal because you always see it on the news, you always see people’s houses catching on fire, and you never think it’s going to be you, and then it’s you," Greig said.
