Brian Britton, who spent 33 years in prison for killing his parents and brother, has been granted parole. His sister, who was injured but survived the attack, wants him to stay in jail.
He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison with the possibility of parole and is currently housed in Otisville Correctional Facility.
Brian Britton, now 50, has been granted parole after serving 33 years in prison for the murders of his parents and brother. "The board members base their decisions on whether the standards for release are satisfied in accordance with Executive Law 259-I," the statement to the Poughkeepsie Journal read.
