Eight persons have been reported dead while three others have been said to be injured due to the heavy rains and widespread floods caused by the shear line in four regions since the Christmas weekend. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council's Situation Report No. 2 issued at 7 p.m. on Monday, a total of 19 persons were also reported missing in Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Northern Mindanao.

Eight persons have been reported dead while three others have been said to be injured due to the heavy rains and widespread floods caused by the shear line in four regions since the Christmas weekend.

A total of 27,133 families or 100,691 individuals have been affected by the rains in MIMAROPA and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. Power in 36 cities and municipalities was affected by the storms, but 31 of the areas have reported that electricity has been restored. The NDRRMC also said that no outage of telecommunications services has been reported.The cost of damage to livestock, poultry, and fisheries stood at P5,750,000.
