Authorities across multiple U.S. states reported full or partial 911 outages and disruptions Wednesday.
Police in Las Vegas, Nevada said 911 calls from landlines were temporarily not working, but later restored.advised the public to dial 911 on mobile devices, noting the department "will be able to see your number and will call you back right away."
The Henderson Police Department said texts to 911 were functional, adding that rapid SOS was also working.State police said the outage impacted Clark County, and not Washoe County or the Reno area.The departed said it was being inundated with call from people who were testing the system. "Please only utilize 911 services only if an emergency situation exists," the department noted on Facebook. "For timely response in Rapid City, use the non-emergency line at 605-394-4131.", Nebraska experienced outages, adding that callers heard a busy signal after dialing 911.
"If you are in need of emergency assistance and experience this busy signal, hang up and call 402-444-5802 in order to reach a Douglas County dispatcher,"
