McLaren recalls every 600LT in U.S. over fire risk.
The cooling system issue was first brought to McLaren’s attention back in December 2022, when a service technician noticed a coolant leak from an outboard right-hand radiator joint. It was later determined that the leak can arise as a result of inadequate sealing around the joint. Unfortunately, the loss of sealing is exacerbated by the heat and pressure cycles associated with dynamic driving.
The automaker plans to remedy this by replacing the coolant hose, temperature sensor housing, and clamps with updated components. These changes will take place at no cost to the owners at their respective dealers.The twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 engine found in the McLaren 600LT was shared across a number of the brand’s supercars, including the MP4-12C, 570S, and 650S series models. That said, McLaren says its other legacy models are not at risk of suffering cooling leaks.
