Mark Masinter, considered a retail real estate guru, will join Newmark as chairman of global retail.
Longtime Dallas-based retail real estate guru Mark Masinter and his partners have sold Dallas-based Open Realty Advisors and Open Realty Properties to New York-based Newmark.Dallas-based retail real estate firms Open Realty Advisors and Open Realty Properties have been sold to Newmark Group, a publicly traded New York-based commercial real estate firm.and Johnny Siegel are joining Newmark as chairman of global retail and president of global retail, respectively.
Siegel said Newmark has “tremendous reach and services that are getting harder to do with a small office out of Dallas.” Newmark is planning a larger new office in Dallas with Open Realty, but it hasn’t said where yet. Barry Gosin, Newmark’s CEO, said Open Realty is an authority on brand-building through retail real estate site selection strategies.
Newmark has been growing organically and through acquisitions. It has bought 50 companies in the past 10 years.
