President Marcos directs PhilHealth to shift focus from cures to illness prevention, ensuring uninterrupted services to members despite budget cuts. He tasks the Department of Health to implement digitalization initiatives and guarantee continued healthcare delivery.

PRESIDENT Marcos wants the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation to shift the focus of its programs and benefits delivery from cures to illness or disability-prevention measures.

The President wants the Department of Health to guarantee that PhilHealth will be able to continue providing services to its members even after the legislative bicameral conference decided to not to allocate any funds to subsidize the state-run health insurer for 2025. “Make sure that services of PhilHealth remain unhampered…it should not affect the delivery of healthcare services,” Marcos told Herbosa during the meeting.
