Shalini Vadhera has built her 20-year career as a global serial beauty entrepreneur and has big plans to help millions of Indian women and girls do the same with the coming launch of her new brand,and its powerful social-impact initiative. Vadhera’s drive to educate, elevate and empower women as part of her new brand comes from a lifelong passion to give back and to make beauty more than just “skin deep.
The beauty industry has given Vadhera an opportunity to reach her fullest entrepreneurial potential and she believes that it can give the same freedom to women in India. Her newest brand, Ready Set Jet, capitalizes on the exploding Indian beauty market while focusing on the global beauty and travel spaces.
At the same time, I was going through my own career and entrepreneurial evolution. From initially launching my first beauty brand in Sephora and on QVC to then launching a women’s platform, Power Beauty Living, at the United Nations in 2016, those course of events put me on my path to purpose. In late 2017, I received the Mahatma Gandhi Award at the British House Of Lords for my work in leadership and women empowerment. Soon after, high-level government officials in India came calling.
