Jordan Adams dropped a 50-point bomb as San Miguel pounced on the import-less Blackwater, 128-108, to get a share of the early lead in Group B of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Faced against a brave stand from the Bossing who still led at the half despite playing without an import, the Beermen rode the hot hands of Adams to break the game wide open in the third frame and notch their second win in as many games.
June Mar Fajardo added 13 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks while CJ Perez chipped in 14 as SMB joined Rain or Shine and NLEX at the top of the standings. Blackwater gave the pink slip to first choice Ricky Ledo following subpar performances in the first two games. The Bossing are set to bring in a new import but couldn’t make it in time for the game against the Beermen.
