He was the grandson of John Lubben, the business partner of The Dallas Morning News founder G. B. Dealey.
Lubben was born in Houston and raised in McAllen. He lived in Dallas for more than 40 years, until he and his wife, Ann Logan-Lubben, moved to Austin in 2013 to be closer to family.
“His grandfather was an accountant and apparently good enough with numbers that G.B. Dealey allowed him to help him openLubben believed that everyone deserved representation and worked with those experiencing homelessness in Dallas, she said. After he retired, he continued to volunteer in Austin, where he delivered Meals on Wheels throughout the pandemic.
