TEXAS — Forty-seven people could now face prison time after a nine-month wiretap investigation confirmed six kilograms of cocaine was moved from Houston to Philadelphia in and around Jefferson, Clearfield and Allegheny counties, according toJesus Gonzalez, 36, of Houston, confessed in court his part in the federal narcotics violation in chartering a plane to traffic cocaine.
Gonzalez is one of the 47 defendants charged in six related indictments of the “Return to Sender” investigation. In addition to Gonzalez’s plea, the court learned that on Oct. 22, 2020, he and three others chartered a private plane and transported six kilograms of cocaine from Houston to the Pittsburgh International Airport. Investigators recovered the cocaine from two pieces of luggage after using a search warrant.
“The Drug Enforcement Administration led the multi-agency investigation of this case, which also included the Homeland Security Investigations, United States Postal Service – Office of Inspector General, United States Postal Inspection Service, Internal Revenue Services, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Allegheny County Police, and Pennsylvania State Police.
