A heat advisory is in place for Tuesday due to the excessive heat index values.
It’s quite possible we could have more of those advisories in the days ahead.Expect a run of hot days for the rest of the week. Highs will continue to be in the mid 90s and heat index values will be 105°+ in spots most afternoons. It’s quite possible we could have more of those advisories in the days ahead. The good news is that there will be rain chances most days with spotty to scattered storms that will help to cool things off.
We’re tracking a new disturbance in the Eastern Caribbean. This system will track towards Central America and spend a lot of time over land, limiting its development before possibly emerging in the Southern Bay of Campeche. This system will not impact our area in any way. Otherwise, all is quiet in the tropics.
Conditions will continue to improve in the surf this week as we go back down to low risk for rip currents. Regardless, please continue to be vigilant in the days ahead and never turn your back on the Gulf!Family who aided in the search for 3 swimmers who died in the Gulf speaks out
