Her body was discovered, naked from the waist down, about 11:20 a.m. Dec. 22 near inside the park off North Front Street near Verbeke Street. Police are still awaiting results from forensic tests to determine if Shannon was sexually assaulted.Police located surveillance footage that showed Shannon walking with a heavy-set black man wearing a blue sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, shorts, white socks and sandals about 7:30 a.m. Dec. 22 in the 100 block of Verbeke Street.
She had no obvious injuries, so the witness walked to the North Front street side of the park and heard a loud thud in the area where Shannon and the man had been.
