A leader of the House of Representatives has assured evacuated families of coordinated efforts among government agencies, relief and assistance following Mayon Volcano’s increased alert level.

Thousands of villagers have been forced to leave rural communities within a 6-kilometer radius of Mayon volcano’s crater in Albay province which was placed under a state of calamity on Friday to allow more rapid disbursement of emergency funds in case a major eruption unfolds.

The lawmaker said members of the Ako Bicol Party List has collaborated closely with local government units, disaster management agencies, and humanitarian organizations to coordinate efforts and provide relief to the affected communities. As the situation continues to evolve, Co said they remain on high alert and ready to adapt their response efforts accordingly as they are closely monitoring updates from Phivolcs and will continue to work hand in hand with local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the affected families.HOUSE Committee on Ways and Means Chairman Jose Ma.
