The Governance Commission for Government Owned or Controlled Corporations (GCG) has asked the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to submit its report over the severe system failure at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Quiroz said the GCG wants to be apprised about circumstances surrounding the air traffic management, which led to NAIA flights being cancelled, delayed, and/or diverted on New Year’s day. To further support the implementation of CAAP’s CNS/ATM, the GCG authorized the creation of 136 Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance System Officer I plantilla positions through GCG Memorandum Order No. 2017-08.
