Netflix releases a new trailer for Emilia Pérez, a new musical crime movie starring Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, Karla Sofía Gascón, and more.
. Along with showing off footage of the film’s elaborate musical numbers, the trailer also provides new looks at Gomez’s Jessi character.
“From renegade auteur Jacques Audiard comes Emilia Pérez, an audacious fever dream that defies genres and expectations,” the synopsis for the movie reads. “Through liberating song and dance and bold visuals, this odyssey follows the journey of four remarkable women in Mexico, each pursuing their own happiness.
Audiard is known for making 1994’s See How They Fall, 199’s A Self-Made Hero, 2001’s Read My Lips, 2005’s The Beat That My Heart Skipped, 2009’s A Prophet, 2012’s Rust and Bone, 2015’s Dheepan, 2018’s The Sisters Brothers, and 2021’s Paris, 13th District. Emilia Pérez premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival last May, where it won the Jury Prize and Best Actress awards.
The movie will be released in select theaters in the United States and Canada on November 1, 2024.
