The Department of Justice cannot make a firm stand against the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) as its attached agencies are lawyering for the Philippine Amusement Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Senator Sonny Angara said Thursday.

"So I suppose that covers [Bureau of Immigration] because they are a sensitive agency in this respect, NBI, among others," he added. Angara explained there are agencies under the DOJ, particularly the Office of the Solicitor General and the Office of the Government Corporate Counsel, which "lawyer" for PAGCOR — the body that regulates all gambling activities in the country, including POGO.
