The number of people who died due to the combined effects of Typhoon EgayPH and the southwest monsoon or “habagat” has reportedly climbed to 25, the NDRRMC reported on Monday. | FArgosinoINQ

In its 8 a.m. situational report, NDRRMC said that only two of the reported deaths were confirmed, while the 23 others are currently up for validation. On the other hand, the number of injured remained at 52, and missing at 20.The agency likewise monitored an increase in the number of persons affected from 1,029,724 on July 30 to 2,397,336 individuals or 654,837 families on July 31. These locals were from 4,111 barangays nationwide.

Displaced residents also increased from 30,158 to 312,995 — 50,987 of them are outside evacuation centers , while 262,008 are currently in ECs located in Regions 1 , 2 , 3 , Mimaropa , Calabarzon and Region 6 .
