J-Hope’s solo track “Outro: Ego” has arrived. BTS
The new song was released through a music video today that kicks off by referencing the intro track andand features J-Hope ruminating on the choices that, while not always easy, have led him to where he is now as a member of BTS, seven years since the act’s debut on June 13, 2013.
"Now I don't care, it's all choices by my fate so we're here/ look ahead, the way is shinin' / keep going now,” he proclaims during the chorus. Throughout the track and video -- which incorporates many visual nods to previously released BTS contents -- the artist reflects on his career, and the decisions and hardship he’s faced, including the dichotomy between his stage persona and his birth identity, Jeong Ho-seok. "Outro: Ego" ultimately ends with his declaration of self and ego as he appears within a colorful city “in which the artist’s current image is projected,” as per a press release about the song.
