The weighted average interest rate was at 6.2466 percent, up from 6.1395 percent previously. The shorter-dated TDF’s BCR was at 1.1951 indicating higher demand from last week’s 0.9150. Yields for both tenors continued to increase from the rates last week. The WAIR for the 7-day tenor rose by 10.7134 basis points while the 14-day rates went up by 8.5179 bps.
Since May 19, the BSP has increased the RRP rate by a cumulative 350 bps, mostly in response to the US Federal Reserve’s similar aggressive rate hikes to maintain a decent rate differential for the stability of the exchange rate market.
