Mayor Ed Orcutt will enter into a Community Cost-Share Program agreement with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District to help subsidize the $2 million cost of Wedo Park retention basin construction.
The storm water basin has been designed to alleviate residential flooding issues in that area.
“The agreement also allows us to pay ourselves back for the next five years at $200,000 per year. So, that $1 million, plus the initial $800,000, will be able to cover $1.8 million of the $2 million project.” The cost-share application indicates a project start date of Aug. 7 and an end date of April 1, 2024. It also shows thatOrcutt said residents will see equipment being mobilized soon at Wedo Park to get construction under way. He added existing park components will begin being removed and hauled in early September. That process will take between four and six weeks.
