Victims of the Baguio City public market fire last week received a total of ₱1.5 million worth of relief assistance, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) says.
The fire caused losses in the livelihood of at least 2,200 people, including 1,700 vendors with razed stalls and 500 vendors in the surrounding area.
The DSWD said its field office in Cordillera Administrative Region initially handed out family food packs after the onset of the fire which left aroundIt added that it will be distributing ₱10,000 in financial assistance to the 1,700 market vendors. DSWD said the CAR field office has over 40,600 food packs and ₱5 million standby fund for emergencies.
