Solis scored her first goal only three minutes into the match off an assist from senior Katalina Martinez. After beating Sam Houston’s Jayden Wilson one-on-one, Solis shot it past the goalie for a 1-0 lead. In full control, the Mustangs’ hustle was too much for the Hurricanes . Jefferson attacked every loose ball and pressed despite the big lead.
“It doesn’t matter which opponent we’re seeing. Every game is important,” Duran said. “We need to make sure we stay consistent.”
