They believe that the challenge in design arose while manufacturing Vision Pro’s sleek screens as it comprises two micro-OLED displays catering to both eyes separately. Terushi Shimizu, head of Sony’s semiconductor unit in a recent media roundtable said that Sony was apprehensive about the VR market, and thus was reluctant to step-up production. Although, they are constructing a new plant with the aim of ramping up production for the chips used in smartphone cameras.
