Minister vows to expand these educational activities to other jails across Sindh
– It is first of its kind that prisoners of Karachi Central Jail completed their language and computer courses and received certificates wearing graduation caps and prison uniforms at a graceful ceremony organised in the jail.
The ceremony was attended by Sindh Jail Affairs Minister Ali Hasan Zardari who during his speech pledged to expand these educational programmes and activities to other jails across Sindh. The ceremony featured an unexpectedly festive atmosphere within the prison walls. Zardari lightened the mood with humorous remarks about the changing role of jails, which are now becoming centres for education and skills development.
The minister also announced upcoming eco-friendly upgrades, such as installing solar systems, to improve the prison facilities.It shows that even within the confines of a prison, there are opportunities for personal growth and rehabilitation. The inmates’ achievements highlight the potential for positive change and the importance of providing educational and vocational training to help them reintegrate into society.
