The Anti-Terrorism Court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and several senior leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in connection with the GHQ attack case.
Reports indicate that 25 individuals have been named in the GHQ attack case, including prominent PTI leaders like Ali Amin Gandapur, Shibli Faraz, Shehryar Afridi, Zain Qureshi, Kanwal Shauzab, Tahir Sadiq, and Malik Taimoor Masood. Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the ATC Rawalpindi signed the arrest warrants and ordered the Rawalpindi Police to arrest the suspects and present them in court by December 10.
This decision by the court highlights efforts to ensure accountability for the accused individuals’ alleged roles in the GHQ attack. On December 5, 2024, PTI founder Imran Khan and 60 other PTI leaders were indicted in the GHQ attack case by Judge Amjad Ali Shah.Following this ruling, police arrested four PTI leaders, including Omar Ayub, Raja Basharat, and Malik Ahmad Chatta, in connection with the attack case. Additionally, 23 other accused individuals, including Murad Saeed, Shehbaz Gill, and Zulfi Bukhari, have already been declared proclaimed offenders.
