The fire razed 32 houses while 20 others were damaged, said SFO3 Wendell Villanueva, information officer of the Cebu City Fire Office. The fire broke out at 5:45 p.m. and was contained at 6:15 p.m.

“Most houses in the area are made of light materials that caused the fire to spread quickly. Our firefighters also had difficulty penetrating the fire scene because of narrow roads,” said Villanueva.
