A reader likens the appraisal process to taxation without representation and says perhaps it’s time for a Boston Tea Party moment to protest property appraisals.Re: “Access to abortion now facing a dark future,” Front Page, Wednesday:
I have lived through two wars. We fought for the rights of people, not for a controlling government. This country is governed by the people, not representatives.For the past decade or more, politicians on both sides of the aisle have stretched, distorted and spewed out mis- and disinformation as a means of advancing their political careers. A day does not pass by when some political leader is espousing outright lies.
Everyone, please step up and demand candidates for political office tell the truth and be honest with the public. And do not support them if they espouse conspiracy theories and lies without any factual basis. The public deserves better role models.I believe the majority of taxpayers would not be so upset with their appraisals if, in fact, we received a fair appraisal of our properties.
